Getting Started

Pre-recorded video reads can be added to your campaigns in Rumble Studio. This allows you to run ad reads automatically during a live stream without needing to perform them live on camera. Some setup in OBS is required to make sure the video and audio work correctly

Who can use it?

This feature is currently in beta and available only to Creator Program users.

Uploading Pre-Recorded Reads

  1. Go to studio.rumble.com/campaigns.

  2. Each campaign has an option to attach, replace, or remove a pre-recorded video.

  3. Once uploaded, the video will automatically pin to the top of the campaign list.

  4. Campaigns with a pre-recorded video will show a play button in Studio.

When a pre-recorded read starts, the video takes over the full Canvas screen. The QR code and campaign widget stay visible on the left. No additional action is required while the ad runs.

Configuring Audio in OBS with Direct RTMP

Because Direct RTMP uses a Browser Source, OBS needs to be set up to pass audio correctly and avoid conflicts with your mic or gameplay. OBS configuration is only needed if you are streaming with Direct RTMP. If you are using the Studio Canvas, no additional OBS setup is required.

Enable Audio from the Browser Source

  1. Right-click the Browser Source in OBS → Properties.

  2. Check “Control audio via OBS.”

  3. If this isn’t enabled, your video will play silently.

Prevent Audio Conflicts with Sidechain Ducking
To keep the ad clear, add a Compressor filter to your other audio sources:

  1. Right-click your mic (or another source) → Filters → add Compressor.

  2. In the Compressor settings, select your Ad Browser Source under Sidechain/Ducking Source.

  3. Set Ratio high and Threshold low.

  4. Repeat for all other audio sources except the ad itself.

This ensures your mic, gameplay, or music volume drops automatically whenever the ad audio plays.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the ad browser source doesn’t appear in the Sidechain/Ducking Source dropdown:

    1. Make sure Control audio via OBS is checked.

    2. Play the ad once so OBS detects the audio.

    3. In Advanced Audio Properties, switch the source to Monitor and Output.

    4. Confirm the browser source is visible in the active scene.

  • You can test your setup before going live by using the Direct RTMP widget test campaign in Studio.

Please note: Your pre-recorded read will only be approved if both the video and the campaign widget (QR code and advertiser info) are displayed correctly during playback.

The browser overlay widget has to be added as the source on top of the list of all of your other sources so that it always appears on top. It also has to be on every scene, so that if you are doing a read and using multiple scenes, it will always appear on stream.

Your read will be rejected if the QR code and advertiser information are not displayed on screen during the read.

See Live Read Campaign Guidelines and Instructions for more information about how to successfully execute an approved read.
